Location | Savannah |
Citation | RGG.779.001 12 Aug 1779:31 (30) That day [Sunday last] seven horses started on our course for the Jockey Club Subscription Purse, which was won by Mr. Fenwick's bay horse Mask; and in the evening a very genteel ball was given by the club to the ladies, who made a brilliant appearance. The sport of the Turf and entertainment of the evening, afforded the highest satisfaction, and diffused universal pleasure: An happy presage of happier days. |
