Articles of Capitulation.  Agreed on at Nassau in New-
Providence, this eighth day of May, 1782, between his
excellency Don Juan Manuel de Cagigal, Captain-General and
Commander in Chief over the Island if Cuba, and Governour of
Havanna, &c. &c. &c. and his excellency John Maxwell, Esq;
Captain-General, Governour and Commander in Chief of the
Bahama Islands, . . . 
Article I.
. . . The British garrison to march out with all the honours
of war arms shouldered, drums beating, colours flying, . . .
and then deliver up their arms.
