On Monday his Excellency the Commander in Chief received the
compliments of the officers of the army and navy, with those
of the gentlemen of the city, on the anniversary of her
Majesty's birth-day; at noon royal salutes were fired. 
There was an elegant entertainment at headquarters, and in
the evening the General gave a ball and supper at the
Assembly Room, to a very brilliant company of ladies and
gentlemen.
