Jan. 22.  Sunday last, being the anniversary of her
Majesty's birth-day, it was celebrated on Monday, at one
o'clock by the fleet in the harbour, etc. (a signal being
made from the Eagle) a royal salute was fired; and in the
evening his Excellency Lord Howe, gave an elegant ball to
the ladies and gentlemen of Newport, also to the officers of
the navy and army.
