London, August 8. On Wednesday evening, after the Beggar's
Opera was over, at the Theatre Royal, in the Hay-Market, two
countrymen from the upper gallery, although highly pleased
with the novelty of the performance said, "that they were
rather disappointed in the mode of the opera, as they
understood it was to have been reversed, and expected the
piece was to have been begun at the end, and so to have
proceeded backwards to the beginning."
