In Congress, October 3d, 1780.  Resolved, that the regular
army of the United States, from and after the first day of
January next, consist of
[List of regiments and companies, with their complement]
October 21st.
That the several regiments of infantry, . . . be augmented,
and consist of,

45 Serjeants, 
1 Drum Major, 
1 Fife Major, 
10 Drums, 
10 Fifes, 
612 Rank and File:
. . . one drum and one fife from each regiment to attend the
recruiting officer;
