On Monday last the Rev. Dr. Smith delivered an animated and
pathetic oration in the German Calvinist Church, in honour
of the late General Montgomery, and the brave officers who
fell with him before Quebec, to a very crowded assembly,
supposed to consist of about four thousand persons.
. . . [14 lines on the procession and ceremony]
Two of the galleries of the church were filled with the
principal ladies and gentlemen of the city; and several
pieces of music were performed by a number of gentlemen,
which added much to the solemnity.
