On Tuesday the Serjeant who was ordered to be shot, but
afterwards reprieved, for enlisting men and sending them
into the French service, received two hundred and fifty
lashes on the Parade in St. James's Park. He was so
extremely weak after receiving the punishment, that he was
obliged to be supported by two soldiers to the hospital. He
is to receive the same number again as soon as his strength
will permit, and afterwards be drummed from the regiment.
