On Tuesday the 20th ult. a Commencement was held in the
College of this city, before a very crouded and splendid
assembly of the inhabitants, of all denominations. The
Commencement opened with a prayer by the Provost.
The exercises were as follow.
[List of orations, disputes and humourous discussions]
Several gentlemen of the town were pleased to entertain the
audience with some excellent pieces of psalmody and church
music during the performance, accompanied by the organ, and
the band belonging to the 18th or Royal Irish Regiment,
which the commander of that regiment, with his usual
politeness, was pleased to lead on that occasion.
