Petersburg, April 20. On Saturday last the Empress was
pleased to admit all the foreign ministers to the honour of
dining and passing the whole day with her, at a Building
called the Hermitage, to which the Ministers of the Council
were likewise invited. Two tables were provided for the
company; the Empress presided at one, and the Grand Duke at
the other; and the places ballotted for. In the evening,
the company being increased, there was a ball, which her
Imperial Majesty was pleased to honour with her presence,
and afterwards a supper. During the whole of the
entertainment her Imperial Majesty gave every proof of
affability and condescension.
