Annapolis, (Maryland) Dec. 25.  On Friday evening last his
excellency General Washington, with his suite, arrived here
on his way to Mount Vernon. . . . [paragraph and toasts]
  At night the stadt-house was beautifully illuminated,
where a ball was given by the general assembly, at which a
very numerous and brilliant appearance of ladies were
present.
