[Following an article listing a series of resolutions that
were passed by the Cork Union about loyalty to the King:]
Limerick, Dec. 20.  Last Friday, in consequence of an order
from Lord North, there was a scene of rejoicing in this
city, which we shall attempt to describe, though it would
beggar all description.  In the morning the bells were set a
ringing, and the very children caught the general joy and
congratulated each other . . .
