Philadelphia, January 12, 1780.  Deserted from Captain
Nathan Lamm's company, of the Third Virginia Regiment,
commanded by Col. Nathaniel Gist, the following soldiers,
viz. . . [10 lines describing 4 men]
  Caesar Black, Negro drummer, 35 years of age, 5 feet 7
inches high, well made, a shoemaker by trade, and has been
employed inthe public manufactury as an artificer in this
city, making cartridge boxes for eighteen months past, and
has been lately detected with a forged discharge.
  One hundred dollars reward for each of the above
deserters, if confined in any jail, and notice given of them
to the Town-Major, or the subscriber. [signed] Charles
Jones, Lieutenant.
