Extract of a letter from London, dated August 3, 1779, per
the Grantham Packet, to a person in this Island [Basseterre,
(St. Kitts) . . . [23 lines, describing London's
preparations against the French landing]  The news of the
arrival of the June convoy reached London on the 29th of
July, to the great and general joy of every one.  The bells
were set a ringing all over the city . . .
