Sir Thomas Pye's speech on delivery to Admiral Keppen his
sword. . . .
About twelve o'clock the grand procession from the court
began in the following order:
A band of music playing, "See the Conquering Hero Comes."
Admiral Keppel. The Duke of Cumberland on the right, hand,
and Sir Robert Harland on his left. . . .
They all walked with their hats in their hands . . . after
which, every merchant ship in the harbour, and at Spithead,
gave a grand salute of 19 guns each, the bells were set a
ringing, and the evening concluded with bonfires,
illuminations, guns firing, and other demonstrations of joy.
