New-York, March 23. . . An express came to town on Saturday
morning last from Albany, and, it's reported, bro't word,
that a large body of French and Indians had, on Friday the
18th instant, laid siege to Fort William-Henry, near Lake
George . . . that it was not doubted that they would put the
enemy to the rout, and before they had occasion to sing Te
Deum, be made to repent their fruitless attack.
