From the London Gazette. . . To which address his majesty
was pleased to return this most gracious answer. . . .in the
next place they should be taught to read; but as for writing
and accompts, let them not be put thereto, unless they
earnestly desire it; and as for musick, let them have just
as much of it as they can take without instruction.  The
state is in no want of scholars and musicians; 'tis
labouring hands are most wanted.
