Avignon, Jan. 4.  The pretender's eldest son, who came here
the 24th of December with a small retinue, remained
incognito 'till the 2d instant, when he made his publick
entry into this city. . . . In the evening fireworks were
play'd off, and there was a ball which lasted all night.  We
don't yet know whether he will fix his residence here, or go
to Malta, as has been reported.
