Boston, October 27.  Immediately after the reception (by his
excellency the governor) of the important news of the
surrender of Cornwallis, every token of joy was expressed by
the good people of this city.  The bells of the various
churches were ringing through the greater part of the day,
and with as merry a peal as we have heard since they rung
the departure of Francis Bernard. . .
