From the London Evening Post.  The following piece of news I
had yesterday from a friend at Glasgow: The Duke of Athol,
after having in vain endeavoured to compleat the regiment he
made an offer to government, collected all his tenants and
dependents together, when he entertained them with two
bullocks roasted whole, a hoghead of porter, whiskey in
abundance, and bagpipes (the music of the country) and when
he thought that the liquor had taken the desired effect, he
prevailed upon about 70 or 80 of them, partly by persuasion
and partly by threats, to inlist. . .  upon whose approach
they fired, and killed one corporal and two privates, and
wounded a drummer. . .
