Charles-town (South Carolina) July 5.  
Previous notice having been given, that the statue of the
right Hon. William Pitt would be got ready to be raised this
afternoon . . . As soon as this was done, Lord Chatham's
health was drank, 26 cannon were discharged by the artillery
company, three huzzas succeeded, and St. Michael's bells
rang.--Joy sat on every countenance. . . [list of toasts]
