We learn from New-York, that on the 13th of January, being
the Marquis of Granby's birth-day, the same was observed in
that city in a particular manner, by Major Thomas James, who
gave a fire-work in the evening, at his house, after which
was a splendid ball, and an elegant entertainment; there
were present near 100 persons, among whom were their
excellencies Major General Gage, and Sir Henry Moore, many
officers and gentlemen of the town, with all the corps,
military and civil, in his majesty's ordnance, under Major
James's command.
