Anecdote of the celebrated Teresa Constantia Phillips,
during her residence in Jamaica, where she went soon after
publishing the famous apology for her life. . . In the year
1757, or 1758, she was appointed mistress of the revels in
that island, which gave her power over players there, which
entitled her to a place on the stage every time they played,
and a benefit every season, by which she generally got 100
guineas.
