London. . . Jan. 28. . . . On Tuesday night the ball at St.
James's was opened by the duke of York and Princess Augusta
about nine o'clock. The King and Queen withdrew about
eleven, and the ball ended at twelve. The quality made a
most brilliant appearance.
A young gentleman, dressed in purple broadcloth, trimed
with broad silver lace, supposed to be disordered in his
senses, was turned three times out of the ball-room at St.
james's, by the proper person in waiting. He is said to be
the same person who some time since attempted to kiss the
hand of a young lady of the highest rank.
