One hundred and twelve dollars reward. Deserted from
Captain Woelpper's company of the German battalion,
commanded by Lieut. Colonel George Streker. . . [1/2 column,
other people]
Peter Bentis, country born, 5 feet 5 inches high, a
labourer, fair complexion; lived at Norrington, Philadelphia
county, it is believed that he is with his mother, or with
Captain Tomson, with whom he was as drummer in his company,
and in his house concealed when Lieutenant Shrowder went to
look for him to bring him to his respective company;
therefore I request Mr. Tomson to deliver me my drummer, or
I will put the last act of General Assembly in force against
him for harbouring deserters. . . [14 lines, signed] John
David Woelpper.
