Just published, and to be sold, by John Dunlap, in Market-
street, Philadelphia, She Stoops to Conquer: or The Mistakes
of a Night. A comedy. As it is acted at the Theatre-Royal
in Covent-Garden. Written by Doctor Goldsmith. This play
is truly comic: the humour is irresistible, and pleases in
the closet, as well as in the theatre. It was acted in New-
York, a few nights ago, to a judicious and polite audience;
its success in England was unprecedented, and on this stage
unexampled. Doctor Goldsmith has been happy in the choice
of his characters, they are suported throughout with great
propriety, and the incidents that appear improbable, are, in
general, the natural effects of the thoughtless follies of a
young frolicksome country squire.
