New Providence, Philadelphia, County, August 10, 1764.  Five
pounds reward.  Run away from his [  ], on the third
instant, a certain Charles Smyth, an Englishman, about 40
years of age, about 5 feet 9 inches high, a little round
shouldered, but otherwise well built, is thin visaged, full
grey eyes, Roman nose, and many grey hairs on his head. [9
lines]. . . being scarce of money, a lover of strong drink
and company, and plays well on the German flute; he has of
late followed the occupation of a schoolmaster, but some
years ago followed the sea . . . [7 lines]
