Charleston. . . Feb. 13.  On Sunday last arrived here Capt.
James Gilcrist from Barbados, who informs us, that 21 days
before, he passed through part of Admiral Rodney's squadron,
lying in a bay about five leagues to windward of Fort Royal
harbour, in Martinico, where there is a settlement of about
36 houses, and so near the shire that he could see the
people at their doors, and hear our drums beat: . . .
