Deserted from the camp at Staten Island, on the 6th day of
August, the following men, belonging to the 40th Regiment,
viz.  John Miler, a fife, five feet two inches high, red
complexion, and light coloured hair, cued.  John Pope,
drummer, five feet seven inches high, black complexion, and
black hair, cued.  Robert Kittson, five feet seven inches
high, stoops in his shoulders, red complexion, with light
coloured hair, cued.  They all deserted in their
regimentals.  Whoever takes up and secures said deserters,
or brings them to the camp, shall have twenty shillings
sterling reward for each, paid by the commanding officer.
