March 28, 1761. Deserted last night from Captain Dehorte's
company, a soldier and drummer belonging to the provincials;
the drummer named William Commins, about 19 years of age, 5
feet 4 inches high, has a flat nose, is a bold impudent
swearing fellow, and apt to get drunk: Had on, when he went
away, blue plush breeches, and snuff coloured coat; and had
an old silver watch, hacked round in putting in the
chrystal. . . [3 lines, description of the soldier.] They
both received the bounty money. Whoever takes up said
deserters, and secures them in any goal, so that they may be
had again, shall have six pounds reward, paid by [signed]
