22 Jan 1761:32 (1674)
On the same day [that the death of George II and declaration
of George III was officially announced] a considerable
number of merchants, and other gentlemen of this city,
repaired to the New Ferry-House, to an elegant
entertainment, provided on the occasion; where they drank
his Majesty and all other loyal healths, . . . [6 lines] the
anthem of God Save the King, was admirably well sung, with
the chorus, by the company, with heart and voice. The whole
was conducted with great decency, and concluded to the
entire satisfaction of every one present.
