The court of Berlin has caused the following news to be
published: On the 19th inst. was brought to the head-
quarters of the King at Erfurth, an Austrian courier, who
was carrying to Col. Laudon a patent creating him a Major-
General. The King sent a trumpet with the patent to the
Colonel, and at the same time his compliments upon his
promotion.
