London, June 22 . . . We have received an account from a
gentleman of veracity, that Capt. Charles Catford, commander
of the Captain, having received a wound in his thigh in the
late engagement, it was proposed to carry him down to the
cockpit, on which this brave officer said, "No: This
accident will hinder my dancing, but shall not prevent my
fighting." Soon after which he died gloriously.
