London, April 17 . . . [report of two officers of the army
murdering a post-chaise driver.] And now let us inform our
readers of the occasion of this barbarous deed. --These
officers were recruiting at Gravesend, and, after spending
some days there, longed to see a play: Accordingly they
took a post-chaise for this important business; but fearing
they should not be at the play-house time enough, at the
rate the post-boy drove, in their rage and fury for so
material a disappointment, they committed this shockingly
barbarous and cowardly act. . .
