Paris, Oct. 14. A method of making fireworks in the Chinese
taste has lately been sent over here by Father d'Incarvitte,
a celebrated Jesuit missionary at Pekin. The great
advantage of these Chinese fireworks is, that they neither
set fire to wood, rope, nor even to straw. The scholars
belonging to the College of Jesuits lately exhibited some
fireworks of this kind, upon their theatre, in the midst of
the scenes and decorations, without doing the least damage.
