Edinburgh, March 8. Tuesday night his Grace the Duke of
Hamilton gave a very splendid ball, at his Grace's lodgings
in Holyrood House, to a grand company of nobility and
gentry; after which there was a most elegant and sumptious
entertainment, consisting of 452 dishes, one half of which
was served up hot, besides the desert, which consisted of
300 more. The table was 110 feet ling, and the whole was
conducted with the greatest decorum and elegance.
