Supplement to the Philadelphia steeple lottery to raise one
thousand and twelve pounds, ten shillings, to furnish the
steeple with a ring of bells, and a good clock. . . [44

  And as we have no prospect of raising a sufficient sum for
the abovementioned purposes by other means, it is hoped that
all the generous adventurers in the first lottery, as well
as others who missed that opportunity, will promote the
design of having a ring of bells in these parts, and
encourage a work that must be so great an embellishment to
the city of Philadelphia.
