Friday last being the King's birth-day, when his Majesty
enter'd his seventieth year, the same was observ'd here with
the greatest solemnity. His Honour the Governor gave an
entertainment on the occasion at noon at his seat at Bush-
hill, where all the loyal healths were drank. . . [4 lines]
In the evening there was a grand ball at the state-house, at
which were present upwards of one hundred ladies, and a much
greater number of gentlemen, who form'd the most brilliant
assembly that had ever before been seen in this province.
The whole company were elegantly entertain'd by his Honour
there at supper in the Long Gallery, and every thing
conducted with the greatest decorum, and to general
satisfaction.
