Edinburgh, June 27. Last Wednesday one of the rebel
standards, lately seized, and sent to this place since the
burning of the 14 others, was brought by a detachment of the
military from the castle, carried by the common hangman, and
by the same infamous hand committed to the flames at the
publick cross. The sheriffs, attended by the herald,
pursuivants, and constables, were present, the trumpets
blowed, and the populace huzza'd in an extraordinary manner,
not only when it was put into the fire, but after it was
intirely consumed.
