Ratisbon, June 3. The inhabitants of Bavaria arrive here in
such crowds, that we find it difficult to provide them with
lodgings, and places to bestow their goods in. Count
Maurice of Saxony, and some other French officers, arriv'd
here on the 1st, and within an hour after, it was known,
that the French, notwithstanding the vast expence they have
been at in fortifying Stadtamhoff, were determined to
abandon it. On the 2d in the morning Prince Lobcowitz
advanced with his forces, and about 3 o'clock the French
began to pass the Danube with great precipitation. They
sent over their artillery first, or it had not passed at
all; for before the last squadrons of dragoons had quitted
the bridge, they heard the trumpets of the Hussars in
Stadtamhoff. The Croats and Pandours entered that place
about five in the morning, Prince Lobcowitz came thither
about seven and immediately sent officer to compliment our
Regency, who returned this civility by a deputation.
