Bon, Jan. 14. O.S. Finding that a body of Bavarians was
formed near the village of Wittich, [General Bernklau] sent
orders to his detachment at Scharding, except only the
centries at the gates, to come to him, and then he
vigorously attack'd the enemy, and put them to flight with
such precipitancy, that in their confusion they left us four
cannon, one hawitzer, several colours and drums, together
with cart loads of forage and gun-powder. . .
