Paris, October 4. The King has sent the following letter to
the Archbishop of Paris, viz.
My Cousin, God has lately favoured me with a new blessing,
by the victory he has given to my arms in Italy. . . over
the Emperors forces there. . . [battle of Guastalla] They
abandoned part of their cannon, and we took several kettle-
drums and standards. . . I send you this letter, to acquaint
you that my will is, that you cause Te Deum to be sung, &c.
