Sir, I am told that one Bickerstaff of Great Britain, did
honour to the family of the Staffs, by the genealogy and
history which he published of it.  The family of the Boxes
(of which I am a branch, tho' an unworthy and spurious one)
I believe, if less noble, is not less ancient, and I am sure
is full as numerous, being myself acquainted with some
scores of 'em . . . [1/2 column, social satire using such
family names as Knifebox, Candlebox, Cartouchbox,
Butterbox.]  Box-of-whistles is an organist, and would
willingly settle in a certain city, but cannot meet with
encouragement sufficient, because there are other beasts,
besides asses, who do not love musick:  Some esteem him no
better than the box of Pandora.  Sandbox is a scrivener, a
useful man in his neighbourhood, but a prodigious lover of
circumlocution and tautology: . . .
