enters room:]
Facheux begins: Neighbour, how does thee do?  My friend
answers, I am well I thank you.  What does the bell ring
for?  They are about to swear some Palatines.  Where do all
these Palatines come from?  From the Palatinate.  Where is
that?  'Tis in Germany.  [Takes up a book and turns it
over.]  What book is this?  Look in the title page.  What is
it about?  'Tis a dictionary.  Is it a play-book?  'Tis a
dictionary.  Is it about the French prophets?  No, 'tis a
dictionary.  It looks like a playbook, for here are several
persons named . . .
