Charlestown, June 3. Col. Charlesworth Glover, who has been
some months on his agency in the Creek Nations of Indians,
arrived in town on Thursday last; and hath brought with him
twenty chiefs of the lower Creeks Tallepooses, Ookfuskees
and Abeekers, Kings and beloved men of those nations (and
several attendants, 41 men and 5 women) to pay their
compliments to his Excellency our Governor, who was pleased
to order the reception of the said Chiefs in a pompous
manner, by ordering the Troop, who were handsomely mounted,
to march about two miles out of town, where the Indians
waited their coming. . . [10 lines] Then the Troop
remounted, and march'd in order, the Indians following,
singing in triumphant manner, with eagles tails, &c. till
they came to the Bowling-Green, where they were receiv'd by
Col. Parris, and the officers, with the foot-companies under
