Location | Petersburg |
Citation | PEP.778.030 16 Mar 1778:1131 (4/467) Petersburg, Sept. 23. [Report of hurricane and flood] According to accurate observations, it appears that the waters rose a foot and a half higher here than in the great inundation which happened here in the year 1752. The plays at the court theatre are stopped for some time, on account of this public calamity. Arrangements are taking to give all possible relief to the poor sufferers. |
