London, May 28. In a village in Somerset, there is a sign
over the door of a petticoat mender, with the following
words: "Petticoats mended, children taught reading, writing
and dancing; grown up people taught to spin, roses distilled
and made into a proper resistance with water, also old shoes
bought and sold by Thomas Williams."
