From the St. James's Chronicle.  Manchester, Nov. 8, 1776.
I have had the honor to serve my country for five and thirty
years, as private soldier, corporal, and serjeant.

I am informed there has not been such a scene of joy here,
or such ringing of bells, with illuminations, since the
sixteenth day of December, forty-five, when their darling
Prince arrived from the north.
