London. . . Sept. 2. . . By a gentleman just arrived from
St. Brieux in Britanny, we are informed that the celebrated
dramatic author, who lately absconded for a detestable
attempt, was found dead near Dol, by the monks of a
monastery near that place. A considerable sum of money
found upon him, became the property of the Holy fathers. It
was said, that he had poisoned himself, and the some
writings found cause the discovery.
