It must give unfeigned transport to every lover of poetry,
to find that she has, still remaining, some sons, who do
honour to her train, and would make no unseemly figure among
her ancient worthies--Commend me among others, to the
peerless bard, who chaunteth his sweet carrols so often in
our ears, and who, was it not for the dullness of this
unmusical age, would ere now have been elevated to the

discussing the writing of poetry and criticising present
efforts; signed] Burgersdicius. At my apartment, in the
upper regions, in Front-street, October 18, 1772.
